Welcome to The Wildwoods, NJ!

The Travel Channel lists them among America's Best Beaches and Conde Naste Traveler Magazine named one section the
"Best Sports Beach". The
Wildwoods
shore has even been listed by other publications as "Number One Family Beach",
"Best Beach In New Jersey", and the 'Top 10 Singles Beaches." All this sun and fun comes at no cost,
since unlike most other beaches along New Jersey's 127-mile Atlantic Ocean shoreline, the Wildwoods Beaches are free.
The white sanded, wide- and in some cases growing-- beaches of this popular New Jersey Atlantic Ocean
Coastline resort area offer a break from routine for more than 9 million visitors every summer.

Wildwoods,
invite you to relax and enjoy the action as visitors pose in front of the giant
Wildwoods
sign. Beachgoers, largely drawn from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, and
Canada, return often. Visitors indulge themselves enjoying the ocean, playing on the 38-block boardwalk,
dining elegantly or family style and taking in performances or dancing till morning at a dazzling array of night spots.
After you take your children's picture in front of the Wildwoods sign, the area offers, family fun with three
giant water parks and exciting boardwalk amusement piers boasting more rides than Disneyland.
The beachfront
Wildwoods
Convention Center adds yet another dimension to year-round benefits of the area. The center
features 260,000 square feet of space with full convention services for meetings, concerts
exhibits and special events plus a 7000-seat Oceanfront Arena concert venue that features top-flight
entertainment year-round.
Among the major events at the Center is the annual nostalgic October "Fabulous 50's Show" celebrating the
Wildwoods
unique place in music history. The show features classic performers of the '50s and '60s plus an all-day
street festival and nostalgic sock hop making this one of the most fun weekends of the season.
"Rock Around The Clock", the first "Rock and Roll" record to hit number one on the charts and the song that
Philadelphia's Dick Clark pronounced the "National Anthem of Rock and Roll",
debuted Memorial Day weekend in 1954 in the Wildwoods. Bill Haley and the Comets at the HofBrau Hotel
in Wildwood introduced the classic, and Chubby Checker debuted his famous song and dance The Twist in
Wildwood as well. The flavor and the feel of the 1950's, and 60's is illustrated in the area's "Doo Wop"
architecture where numerous 1950's style commercial and motel buildings remain. Proudly preserving the look
and feel of a time like nowhere else, the fantasy- themed hotels are decorated with neon signs and a display
of kitschy "architecture" of the period. For a further trip into the Wildwoods past, a visit to
the "Doo Wop Experience" and "The Neon Gardens" is a must-but first don't forget to take your picture
in front of The "Wildwoods" sign as the world watches.
