EarthCam Presents Live-Streaming Element in Paige Powell's Private Andy at Jeffrey DeitchLive view of Andy Warhol's gravesite adds a real-time dimension to exhibitionFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New York, March 24, 2026 -- EarthCam, the global leader in live streaming camera technology, content, and services, and Jeffrey Deitch are running a live-streaming collaboration as part of the exhibition Private Andy: Religious Services, Paige Powell’s exhibition now on view at Jeffrey Deitch Los Angeles through April 4, 2026. Private Andy: Religious Services draws from Powell’s personal archive and offers an intimate perspective on Warhol’s life through photographs, ephemera and related works. As a close friend of Warhol’s at the time, Powell’s imagery captures deeply human aspects of his life, never shown publicly before. EarthCam’s live-streaming technology brings an added dimension to the exhibition through the inclusion of the Figment Cam, a live view of Andy Warhol’s gravesite in Pittsburgh. Presented in connection with EarthCam’s long-running collaboration with The Andy Warhol Museum, the livestream extends the exhibition beyond the gallery walls. In turn, another live-streaming camera in the gallery captures the viewer’s reaction to the gravesite. This adds a contemporary layer into the exhibition, reflecting Warhol’s lasting connection to media, image-making, and public presence. “I was at a dinner with Andy Warhol when he told me that ‘if you put a camera on anything, you can make it famous,’” recalled Brian Cury, CEO and founder of EarthCam. “It was Andy that gave me the initial spark of an idea to start EarthCam decades ago. One of the things that made him so extraordinary was the way he embraced new technology as part of artistic expression. I imagine he would find the live stream a deeply meaningful connection between his legacy, Paige’s personal perspective, and audiences experiencing the exhibition.” The show at Jeffrey Deitch represents just a tiny fraction of Powell’s archive from the period. According to an article in Artnet, after archiving 40 boxes of her imagery, 70% remains to be scanned. Powell also acknowledged the contributions of her archive team, whose work in organizing, preserving, and digitizing this material made the exhibition possible. “Andy said in 1981, lunching in his studio dining room, 860 Broadway, ‘Paige, you know that anyone can take a good picture,’” remembered Paige Powell, chronicler of the 1980s scene around Warhol. “Another one of his prescient comments, since not many people were taking lots of photographs back then." “It was my long-time friend Thomas Mack Lauderdale who gave me the idea of streaming Andy’s grave for my Private Andy: Religious Services exhibition at the LA Jeffrey Deitch gallery. It’s been a wonderful pleasure working with the Warhol Museum and Brian Cury and his EarthCam team on this collaborative project with the Deitch team.” EarthCam’s live view of Andy Warhol’s gravesite has become a distinctive digital experience for Warhol admirers around the world. Within Private Andy: Religious Services, that livestream takes on added meaning, linking Warhol’s memory to an exhibition that explores his personal world through Powell’s lens. The exhibition is on view at Jeffrey Deitch Los Angeles, located at 7000 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90038. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through April 4, 2026.
