Charles Dilkes, CEO of camera technology company, Smart Cam LLC, former CEO of
AI Site Cam - aisitecam.com,
was charged on May 2, 2023 with second-degree theft, second-degree fencing, and second-degree computer theft.
The arrests were the result of an ongoing investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Upper Saddle River Police Department. Detectives and police executed a search warrant on Dilkes’ vehicle at a Mahwah, NJ hotel. The search revealed 58 stolen Canon digital cameras. Dilkes was arrested at the scene.
Another more recent court filing alleges that Charles Dilkes induced an investor to contribute $510,000 to AI Site Cam, Inc. by misrepresenting the company’s capital structure and his own shareholdings, then secretly misappropriated hundreds of thousands of dollars for personal expenses (luxury travel, dining, payments to a partner), failed to provide accounting or shareholder protections, and may have never properly registered the shares he promised.
