Fox Sports Selects EarthCam to Time-Lapse Construction of its World Cup Studio

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, June 5, 2015 -- Fox Sports has set up shop in Vancouver for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, complete with its own pop-up broadcasting studio. EarthCam’s construction camera was onsite as well to capture construction of the studio and released a time-lapse of the entire process.

Based on the success of their first partnership – EarthCam worked with Fox Sports to document the building of Super Bowl XLVIII Boulevard in Times Square – the broadcasting network selected EarthCam’s easily-deployable, high quality Work Zone Cam solution to document progress for its studio. Chosen based on a unique combination of digital SLR technology, dedicated customer service and marketing support, the webcam expertly captured each stage of construction with high definition 18 megapixel imagery. The archived images were then hand-edited into a professional time-lapse movie. Sports fans can watch as one month of construction flies by in less than one minute.

The two-story 7,500-square-foot studio is located next to the former Olympic flame in the Jack Poole Plaza in downtown Vancouver. The headquarters house offices, a control room, green room and a custom built set with changeable backdrops. The studio is also a technology powerhouse, with impressive features including two 84-inch touchscreens, 15 crane-enabled cameras and a drone.
