EarthCam Premieres New Commemorative Time-Lapse in Honor of September 11th Anniversary


New York, September 10, 2012 -- To honor the 11th anniversary of the September 11th attacks at the World Trade Center, EarthCam is releasing a new time-lapse movie, showcasing the ongoing construction efforts at the site in downtown Manhattan. People around the world have been able to stay up-to-date on the constant progress thanks to multiple professional construction cameras positioned strategically around the project site. EarthCam has been on site since 2001, installing a webcam just days after the attacks on September 11th and this latest time-lapse movie commemorates the dedication by many involved in rebuilding lower New York City.

Recently debuting at the World Trade Center site is EarthCam's new GigapixelCam. This revolutionary camera is capable of producing extraordinary panoramas as large as a billion pixels, offering a truly unique way to see the site and reflect on the anniversary. Using special techniques, the images were carefully selected and compiled to create the most genuine look at the construction progress in motion. The theatrical-quality time-lapse movie paints a live action picture of the construction and serves as the perfect way to watch the transformation of this special place in New York City.

EarthCam is documenting each milestone of One World Trade Center from several different locations, including the Millennium Hilton in New York and Liberty State Park in New Jersey.
