Welcome to Princeton, New Jersey!

According to the
Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey,
the endangered Bald Eagle continued to increase in numbers during the 2009 nesting season
producing 85 young from 50 nests. A total of 84 nests are being monitored by agents and volunteers.
Thanks to the
New Jersey Department of Transportation,
EarthCam visitors now have the opportunity of watch one of those nests located in
a heavily developed area in West Windsor, near
Princeton.
Since the aggressive Bald Eagle preservation project has been in place, drivers and residents in the central
New Jersey area have reported several eagle flight sightings. The NJ DOT, working with the
NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife's Endangered and Nongame Species Program,
volunteered the live camera as part of a program to assure protection of endangered species
in areas of highway infrastructure improvement. The project, the nearby Millstone River Bridge
replacement in West Windsor, is scheduled for completion in October of 2010.
During the construction, the eagles nest will be continuously monitored live from an
EarthCam TrailerCam.
