Fleet Week, a New York City tradition since 1984, celebrates the men and women of the U.S. Navy,
Marine Corps, and Coast Guard, as well as visiting sailors from allied nations.
The 2018 tribute launches May 23rd with "The Parade of ships" up the Hudson River.
The parade begins a week filled with events throughout the city from Battery Park to Times Square to Central Park.
The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, located at Pier 86, is the center of activities
beginning as the official location for viewing the "Parade of Ships".
The museum will also host a series of events throughout the week including a wreath laying
ceremony concerts, and contests between ships including a tug of war, best chow, and other challenges.
