live webcam view of the African Elephants as they graze inside the Indianapolis Zoo located at White River State Park. The African Elephant is the largest land mammal on the Earth. Currently, the Indianapolis Zoo is home to five female and one male African elephants. Their herd includes the oldest and heaviest of the females - Sophi - plus the second oldest, Cita, third oldest Kubwa, next in line Tombi, and youngest adult female, Ivory.

The Indianapolis Zoological Society has become the leader in the campaign for survival of the African elephant. They have focused intensive research efforts on this species since 1970 and participate in the American Zoological Association (AZA) Elephant Species Survival Plan (SSP) program.
