Welcome to Panama City Beach, Florida!

Panama City Beach, FL,
"The Beach Lovers Beach," was incorporated in the early 1900's
and officially opened on May 2, 1936. It is was named
Panama City Beach
because
theoretically it was the nearest American port to the Panama Canal.
Today
Panama City Beach
is best known for its white sand beaches and the clear waters
of the Gulf of Mexico and St. Andrews Bay. Located in the Northwest portion of the state,
Panama City Beach
has over 27 miles of beaches and has been recognized by the Travel Channel
as a top US beach destination.
Pineapple Willy's, formerly called Pier 99 Lounge, was renamed after their signature run
cocktail "The Pineapple Willy". The symbol for hospitality is the "Pineapple", a perfect fit!
In October 1995 hurricane Opal destroyed
Panama City Beach
and
Pineapple Willy's
suffered a
45% property loss. Post-Opal rebuilding proved to be positive for the area with the
modernization of many older buildings and room for new ones.
2004 saw a huge boon market for condo construction in the area with thirty-seven new high-rise
buildings constructed and three additional restaurants built.
