Welcome to Lake Tahoe!

Lake Tahoe
is an elevated lake in the Sierra Nevada mountains. It's located
between California and Nevada on the state line, 200 miles from San
Francisco. The lake is 1,645 feet deep, the 2nd deepest lake in America,
and the 10th deepest in the world. The water in Lake Tahoe would cover the
entire state of California 14.5 inches deep. Although a magnet for skiers,
Lake Tahoe can be treacherous in the winter months, with frequent road
closures and other hazardous driving conditions.
Donner Lake
is a natural alpine-type body of water which lies almost exactly
"true" East/West, along the Eastern edge of the Sierra Nevada Range. Donner
Lake was formed primarily through a combination of faulting and glacial
action. The depth of the Lake has been measured to be 328 Feet deep at it's
deepest point. Known as the "jewel of the Sierra", Donner Lake is alive in
the summertime with sailing, water skiing, diving, and fishing. In the
wintertime enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the icy lake and snowy
landscape.
