EarthCam Introduces New Dredging Industry Cameras at WEDA 30

Demonstrates New Software For Remote Visual Project Management

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, June 7, 2010 -- EarthCam, the international leader in providing webcam technology to the dredging industry, today introduced systems designed to reduce cost and limit offshore travel at the annual Western Dredging Association / Texas A&M University Annual Meeting, June 6-9 in San Juan (Exhibit #46).

The USACE compliant Silent Inspector tracking and webcam monitoring systems deliver live and archived image verification of required operations. The time-saving ability to manage multiple projects by viewing live video from vessels during operations and reduce offshore inspection visits increases efficiency while controlling costs. Fully-managed and delivered as an online service by EarthCam’s Control Center 7 software, the Dredging Edition transforms complex live and archival data in time saving visuals. Essential information includes detailed hardware equipment performance, image transmission data, local weather conditions and GPS positioning data.

The specially designed DredgeCam, a robotic streaming video camera, is built with marine grade materials for long-term projects in harsh conditions. The camera is protected by a heavy-duty, pressurized housing with a heater plus a wiper to keep visibility clear and provides a 35x optical and 12x digital zoom. The robotic streaming webcam also includes vibration isolation for jitter-free video zoom.

EarthCam’s DredgeCam and ScowCam camera systems are engineered to withstand weather and the changing environment encountered in harbors, ports and offshore locations. The cameras are among EarthCam’s full array of systems designed to meet budget and monitoring demands of short-term and long-term dredging, port construction, transportation, infrastructure and security projects.

EarthCam is recognized internationally as the leader in complete infrastructure services to manage, host and maintain live streaming public and private, password-protected network camera systems delivering millions of images daily. The company’s more than 13 years of experience includes developing products and software to maintain thousands of applications from sub-zero to desert environments, as well as urban and isolated locations for industry, federal, state and local government.
