St. Patrick's Day Parade Leads the Way on Internet and iPhone

The streaming video camera, located one block south of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, will inaugurate EarthCam’s web coverage of major parades with a line of march past the iconic church.

For the first time, the live views are also offered for iPhone and iPod Touch users. The application, St. Patrick’s Day Live, is available via the App Store and is best experienced with Wi-Fi and 3G connections.

Bag pipers, step dancers, bands and Irish organizations from around the globe, totaling more than 150,000 participants, will proudly honor Irish heritage as they step off to march 42 city blocks past the Cathedral to Central Park at 86th Street. The parade is renown internationally as one of the most colorful and exciting events in New York City.
