EarthCam Webcasts Broadway on Broadway 2006 Live from Times Square

New York, September 10, 2006 -- EarthCam (www.earthcam.com), the world's favorite webcam network and leading provider of live webcam content, is pleased to announce its partnership with Panasonic to webcast Broadway on Broadway 2006 live on September 10th, hosted by Martin Short. Visitors to EarthCam's Broadway on Broadway site will have access to watch the event from multiple streaming jpeg cameras.

As the Official Webcam of Times Square, EarthCam currently has 12 cameras in Times Square that generate millions of views per month. Included in these 12 webcams is one camera that streams live video and audio 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. EarthCam will use its network of cameras to deliver live coverage of the Broadway performances.

Broadway on Broadway is the largest free outdoor public event held in Times Square. The annual kick-off to the Broadway season is expected to draw more than 50,000 theatre lovers to watch as their favorite celebrity performers take the stage to give them a taste of what the year has in store for them.

Scheduled for approximately two hours, the event features hundreds of members from the casts of the current Broadway musicals, as well as additional members from upcoming new musicals for the 2006-2007 season. The show list includes: Avenue Q, Beauty and the Beast, The Color Purple, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Drowsy Chaperone, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, The Producers, Rent, Spamalot, Tarzan, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Wedding Singer, and Wicked, with sneak previews of Company, Les Misérables, High Fidelity, Spring Awakening, Grey Gardens, Jay Johnson: The Two and Only, and The Times They Are A-Changin'. The production ends with a big finale and showers of streaming confetti.

In its 15 years, Broadway on Broadway has become one of the most popular Broadway previews. Hosted by comedian Martin Short of the show "Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me," Broadway on Broadway 2006 is set to kick-off the 2006-2007 Broadway Season on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at 11:30am. The show takes place on an open-air stage at 43rd and Broadway and can be seen on the giant NBC Astrovision screen by Panasonic.
