EarthCam Construction Camera Documents Topping Out for Methodist Richardson Medical Center

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, May 30, 2013 -- Construction is underway for the Methodist Richardson Medical Center on the Bush/Renner campus in Richardson, TX and project teams are celebrating a major construction milestone today. Civic and community leaders are hosting a topping out ceremony to commemorate the halfway point of construction for the new medical facility and EarthCam is on-site to document this important event.

Methodist Health System entrusted construction of their hospital expansion to Rogers-O'Brien Construction. One of Texas' leading General Contractors, Rogers-O'Brien selected EarthCam's innovative MegapixelCam construction camera to document progress for the hospital project. The system captures 6 megapixel images of the entire process from start to finish in high-definition clarity for time-lapse photography. When the project is complete, EarthCam's Creative Team will hand-edit the archived imagery into a time-lapse movie, showcasing the most dynamic views of the progress from foundation to opening.

“The EarthCam camera is a very important entity of our construction process, allowing the architects, engineers and doctors to view the project status daily”, said Donnie Tidwell, Senior Superintendent at Rogers-O'Brien Construction. “The quality of the MegapixelCam and the ability to zoom, move around the site and document the progress make it one of the most valuable assets to our construction process.”

The new $120 million facility will allow the Methodist Richardson Medical Center to better serve Richardson and the surrounding communities. The 266,250-square-foot hospital will feature a women's pavilion, level III neonatal intensive care unit, labor, delivery and recovery services, an advanced neuroscience program, advanced cardiac care and more. The new hospital will create 900 new jobs with an expected medical staff representing more than 35 specialties. Slated to open in the fall of 2014, the technologically advanced facility will be an important and significant addition to the existing healthcare campus.

Patients, hospital staff, investors and the community can track the ongoing progress by visiting the dedicated public page created for the project at http://www.earthcam.com/clients/mrmc-bushrennerhospital/. Visitors can explore the image archives using an interactive calendar, view a time-lapse of progress to-date and share their favorite project images online via Facebook and Twitter.
