EarthCam Introduces Innovative New Features for its Construction Camera Software

70 New Tools for Live Video, UAV Data, Time-Lapses and Gigapixel Panoramas

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, August 9, 2016 -- EarthCam, the leading provider of construction camera technology and services, has launched the first major update to its Control Center 8 Software as a Service (SaaS). The newest version, which includes mobile apps created for EarthCam’s managed service customers, is packed with more exclusive features to help clients monitor, document and promote projects of all sizes.

Control Center 8.1 (CC8.1) builds upon the strong foundation of EarthCam’s intuitive HTML5 SaaS suite, adding new tools that elevate the benefits of its intelligent webcam technology. The software update focuses on three major areas: higher quality live video, showcasing larger widescreen panoramas and creative tools for sharing time-lapse movies.

CC8.1 provides further support for the company’s next generation 4K webcams, delivering broadcast-quality live streaming video and archiving 15-second 4K video clips on-demand. For clients looking for the best in documentation, this essential upgrade ensures that the video content will still be considered high-quality and compelling for years to come. Additional support includes the tools to download the content and an API to stream live to a client’s Facebook page.

Driven by today’s need to document large stadiums, bridges and tall buildings, EarthCam has added new support for users to share massive 360° panoramas as large as 100 billion pixels. EarthCam addresses the inherent difficulty associated with communicating one specific area of focus within these oversized photos by offering digital presets to share pre-defined close-ups throughout the image. This unique feature makes it easier for team members to navigate the panoramas and locate the precise area of interest.

EarthCam has added even more innovative features to its time-lapse and multi-media video services, helping clients showcase their project-in-progress. Building on EarthCam’s popular time-lapses, clients can view date-specific segments on their movies, ideal for quick progress reports and team updates. When clients are ready to promote their project, CC8.1 enables them to directly upload the time-lapse with ease to YouTube through a simple 2-click process.

The webcam technology leader’s newest offering, EarthCam Air, combines its powerful construction camera solutions with UAV geospatial imagery services for an insightful documentation process. CC8.1 provides the necessary tools to integrate and transform UAV data derived from computer-guided flight patterns over jobsites into 3D models faster and more efficiently. Providing a secure HTTPS platform, EarthCam merges the critical information collected via UAVs, webcams and photography documentation to create one cohesive visual progress report.

A major emphasis has been put on the features available for social media and marketing of real estate developments. EarthCam’s exclusive Hall of Fame showcases the best jobsite images during the life of any project, creating a custom Instagram-like visual feed. In addition to sharing the photos with the public, customers now have the ability to integrate this fan-generated content within their own website. Visitors to the Hall of Fame have the opportunity to download and share their favorite views of the project on Facebook and Twitter.

The Control Center 8 mobile apps are available for iOS and Android devices. Clients can remotely control their cameras live, zoom in on details and even activate the on-board wiper – an essential feature when a webcam is installed on a 100-foot utility pole on the side of a busy highway and is not easily accessible.
