New York, New York December 1, 1998 - The world famous Christmas Tree Lighting in New York's Rockefeller Center will be webcast LIVE by EarthCam, the Internet's first searchable directory of webcams.

For years news rooms across the country have broadcast the lighting of the mammoth tree in Rockefeller Center; now EarthCam, the company that brought you New York City's Halloween and St. Patrick's Day, inside views of NASCAR, the Super Bowl and much more, will be bringing the Festivities to the Internet for the first time ever. Images of the preparation, participants and, of course, the magnificent Tree, will be available to anyone with Internet access. Rockefeller Center is one of the biggest tourist attractions in New York City.
