Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

The St. Patrick's Day Parade leads the way for EarthCam's new live streaming
video and audio ParadeCam located one block south of iconic St. Patrick's Cathedral.
For the first time, EarthCam and affiliate TGI Friday's on 5th Ave @ 48th St. bring the internet the full
motion view of the famous tribute to the Irish as it happens from 11am until 4pm EDT on Tuesday, March 17.
If you can't be in Dublin, whether you are Irish or just want to be, the St. Patrick's
Day Parade in New York City is the place to be. Bag pipers, step dancers, bands and Irish
organizations from around the globe totaling more than 150,000 participants, proudly honor
their heritage as they march 42 city blocks past the Cathedral to Central Park at 86th Street.
The parade does not permit autos, exhibits or floats, but remains one of the most colorful
and exciting events in New York City thanks to energetic marchers and festive onlookers. Since the event was started in 1766 by Irish military men serving in the colonies, it has become the best known Irish tribute out pacing literally hundreds of parades worldwide, including Sydney and Tokyo, in honor of Ireland's venerated Saint Patrick.
After St. Patrick's Day, the camera will continue to offer live views from Fifth Avenue,
including major parades as they are scheduled. The Easter Parade is next in April.
